 **COVID-19 Response**   The following official announcements have been made by the city in regards to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus)   In an effort to minimize the visits to City Hall, please use our online services for paying your water bill  https://ubill.avondale.org/

Avondale is following guidance provided by the state Governor’s Executive Orders: https://azgovernor.gov/executive-orders. Effective Sunday, June 21, 2020 the wearing of face coverings by employees and customers will be required in all city facilities,  retail establishments, convenience stores, grocery stores, pharmacies, gyms, indoor sports or activity facilities, and medical offices. Additionally, these businesses will be required to post notice of these requirements at their entrances. (see more: COVID-19 Response)

For the sports lover, the newly renovated ISM Raceway plays host to two NASCAR events annually, each attracting more than 100,000 fans and hundreds of race teams, contributing hundreds of millions of dollars to the state and local economy.  Just off I-10, is the Randall McDaniel Sports Complex, offering 83,000 square feet of indoor arena sports, while regionally known Festival Fields and Friendship Parks, host adult softball and youth soccer tournaments and special events year round.

 

Back access to the Estrella Mountains invite activities for every outdoor enthusiast. As the only Valley city where three rivers converge, Avondale celebrates its lush natural resources with the Tres Rios Nature Festival each spring. The scenic Base and Meridian Wildlife area, a rich riparian habitat located along the Gila River is filled with many species of fish, birds and wildlife and has been designated as a significant birding corridor by the National Audubon Society. 

 

In addition to recreational parks and sports facilities, Avondale maintains a Civic Center Campus and Amphitheater, two local libraries, Avondale Community Center/Senior Center and a Family Resource Center.  All host a myriad of festive events and community programs and services to meet the needs of families.

 

Historic Avondale is home to a host of small businesses and restaurants, various forms of public art displays, murals, and a popular site for special events, including Avondale Fiesta and Billy Days.

 

Shopping and dining opportunities are abundant, with options from fast casual dining at familiar chains, to unique experiences from Cajun , Italian, Mediterranean, Asian fusion, Mexican and South American cuisine. There's even a local brewery and meadery with something on tap for you!
