The City of Avondale Municipal Art Committee is excited to announce the 2026 Senior Art Scholarship Contest, celebrating the creativity and talent of Avondale’s graduating high school seniors. The contest opens February 2 and runs through March 12.

This annual Art Showcase invites college-bound seniors from Avondale high schools to submit their original artwork for a chance to earn scholarship awards. Winning entries will be selected for first, second, and third place, with both scholarships and public recognition awarded. Selected works will be proudly displayed as part of the community exhibition.

Established in 2011, the Senior Art Scholarship Contest is held each spring to encourage, support, and recognize emerging young artists in our community. The exhibit features a wide range of creative expression, including two-dimensional art, three-dimensional art, and photography.

Scholarship awards may be applied toward the recipient’s college or university of choice. If a selected artist does not enroll, the award may be forfeited or granted to a runner-up. The contest is sponsored by the Avondale Municipal Art Committee, with support from local art and educational partners.
