Home MenuInterfaith Partnership
The Interfaith Partnership includes not only the faith community, but also non-profits and school district representatives. Those who attend the meetings often come across families in need. Through sharing information and resources, they are better able to direct those families to the resources they need. Many of the organizations have developed partnerships in addition to a better understanding of the many health and human services available.
Some partnerships include:
- Littleton Elementary District partnered with the Agua Fria Food Bank, to have some of the remaining produce from school meals delivered to the food bank instead of being thrown away.
- Lions Club partnered with the Resource Center and Avondale Elementary School District to assist with vision screenings.
- LDS Church has partnered with the City to bring volunteers to participate in Make A Difference Day.
The Interfaith Partnership was created by Former Mayor Marie Lopez Rogers with the initial goal of bringing the faith community together to share ideas and information about resources that could assist the community. The objective of the Interfaith Partnership was to create a network to provide support to those in crisis within the community.
The Interfaith Partnership continues to be a way to share information or request assistance/support for programs or initiatives that provide health and human services to area residents.
