 **COVID-19 Response**   The following official announcements have been made by the city in regards to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus)   In an effort to minimize the visits to City Hall, please use our online services for paying your water bill

Avondale is following guidance provided by the state Governor’s Executive Orders: Effective Sunday, June 21, 2020 the wearing of face coverings by employees and customers will be required in all city facilities,  retail establishments, convenience stores, grocery stores, pharmacies, gyms, indoor sports or activity facilities, and medical offices. Additionally, these businesses will be required to post notice of these requirements at their entrances. (see more: COVID-19 Response)

Veronica Malone was elected in 2016 to serve on the Avondale City Council in the capacity of Council Member. Her 4-year term began in January of 2017.

Council Member Malone has been involved in her community for many years. She previously served as Vice President and member of the La Joya Football Booster Club and volunteers in the children’s ministry at her church, Christ Church of the Valley. Currently, Council Member Malone serves on the Avondale Contributions Assistance Review Committee, Maricopa County Human Services Commission, the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is a member of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials.

Veronica has worked in education for the past 11 years and is Scrum Master certified; this allows her to serve as the facilitator for agile development teams. She is currently employed as a Special Project Technician with the Littleton Elementary School District and previously worked for Arizona State University and the Tolleson Elementary School District.

Council Member Malone is a proud graduate of the Avondale Citizens Leadership Academy, the Avondale Citizens Police Academy and the West Hispanic Leadership Institute. She believes these learning opportunities have afforded her a better understanding of city government and her leadership role as an Avondale Council Member.

Veronica is an Arizona native and has been an Avondale resident since 1983. Her and her husband, Terreance, are the proud parents of three boys. She enjoys spending time with her family and just hanging out with her boys.
