FOG Program
Game Day foods are also notoriously greasy. The fats, oils, and grease (FOG) from fabulous football foods can clog sink drains and pipes, causing back-ups in your home's plumbing. Calling a plumber to clean the mess can be an expensive game day interruption. Keep the plumber from crashing your game day party by adding these simple FOG fighting steps to your playbook, and avoid penalty flags for illegal procedure and delay of game:
Game Day Play 1
Contain it - After cooking fried foods, pour cooled oil and grease into a container.
Freeze it - Store in the freezer to solidify.
Toss it - Throw it all in the garbage on trash day.
Game Day Play 2
Scrape it - Before washing dishes, scrape food particles, oils and debris from plates and cookware into the trash.
Game Day Play 3
Recycle it – Better yet, recycle your used fryer oil at the Public Works drop off station. Click here for more info.
Join the team and be a FOG Fighter. Keeping your drains free of fats, oils, and grease ensures a winning game day every time!
