The City of Avondale's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) was constructed in 2018 and serves as the focal point for coordination of the City’s emergency planning, training, response and recovery efforts. A National All-Hazards approach is utilized to manage the City’s response to any major disasters or emergencies such as fires, floods, acts of terrorism or violence, or any large-scale, planned events that take place in the City. The EOC provides a secure work area for various personnel from departments and organizations, both within and outside the City of Avondale, to communicate and collaborate during large scale emergencies or events. Also co-located in this facility is the back-up Police Dispatch Center and the Traffic Operations Center.
