Are alerts sent out in languages other than English?

We can send alerts in both English and Spanish. The system is defaulted to sending out messages in English. If you would like to receive alerts sent out in Spanish, please update your account language preferences.
Can I call the alert phone number back or reply back to the email?

You are not able to reply to texts, emails or voice messages sent on Avondale Alert. For additional information regarding an alert, please refer to the phone number provided in the alert.
How do I sign-up for Avondale Alerts?

Signing up for Avondale Alert is easy. Sign up and register your contact information by clicking on Avondale Alert.
How do I update or remove my notification preferences and contact information used by Avondale Alert?

You will need to login to your Avondale Alert account you created to make changes to your notifications.

Once signed in, click the ‘Preferences’ tab at the top.

Under ‘Notification Preferences’, you can make changes to both the phone numbers and email addresses on which you want to receive Avondale Alert messages by clicking or unclicking the checkboxes.
How does it work?

When an emergency occurs that meets the criteria for sending out an alert to the public, the City’s Public Safety personnel will gather the necessary information and push out an alert. Alerts can be sent out to everyone who opted into the system either city-wide or to a specific area or neighborhood for more localized events.
How much does it cost?

Avondale Alert is a free service that allows you to sign-up online to receive customized alerts via text message, email, or voice message. This service is provided by the City of Avondale at no cost to the public; however, message and data rates may apply.
What if I receive a call at home and I am not there to answer it?

Avondale Alert will leave a voice message on your recording machine.
