Home MenuDedication Bench Program
The parks in Avondale are a special place for many of the residents and visitors of our community and often become an important place in their lives. From time to time, a visitor wishes to have a dedication bench placed in our parks.
To help make this dream a reality, the Avondale Parks, Recreation & Libraries Department offers the Dedication Bench Program.
Each bench is $2,000 and comes with a dedication plaque.
Benches will have plaques installed on the back side of the bench and shall have no more than three lines of remembrance text. Benches will be placed in spaces that are ADA-accessible and out of the way of walking paths.
To protect the city’s parks and resources, the Parks, Recreation & Libraries Department has identified the locations most appropriate at each eligible park. Up to 50% of benches at eligible Avondale Parks can be part of the dedication bench program, and placement of the benches is at the sole discretion of the parks staff.
Parks staff shall review all dedication benches annually for regular maintenance and will replace benches as necessary. All installed plaques will be good for up to 5 years, and each plaque shall be returned to the family of the applicant upon completion of the program.
