Get ready to make a splash and dash through an exhilarating evening of fun at the Avondale Aquatic Center’s premier event, The Avondale Dunk n’ Dash! On September 6th, athletes of all ages and skill levels are invited to take part in this thrilling run-and-swim challenge. So lace up your running shoes, grab your goggles, and dive into the excitement at The Avondale Dunk n’ Dash. It’s the ultimate test of fitness, fun, and community spirit!

TIME: 7 PM Start

LOCATION: Avondale Aquatic Center

Distances

  • 15 and older - Swim 475 yards / Run 2.5 mile
  • Youth 8-14 - Swim 225 yards / Run 0.5 mile

Cost

  • 15 and older - $35 – Includes event t-shirt and medals
  • Youth 8-14 - $30 – Includes event t-shirt and medals

Parking

  • Parking is available on-site at the Avondale Aquatic Center and the Avondale Civic Center Library.

Schedule 

  • Saturday, September 6th
    5:00 p.m. Check in begins
    7:00 p.m. Avondale Dunk n Dash 475 yard swim and 2.5 mile run begins
    7:30 p.m. Avondale Dunk n Dash 225 yard swim and 0.5 mile run begins

    Pool will remain open until 9 p.m. if you’d like to stay and enjoy the slides and diving boards.

Race Timing

  • This event will be chip-timed by 4 Peaks Racing using triathlon chips. Lost or unreturned chips will
    be charged to the athlete. Chips should be worn on your left ankle and must be returned at the
    finish.

Swim Course

  • Swim Course will take place in the 25-yard competition pool at the Avondale Aquatic Center.
    • Participants will swim 225 yards before exiting the pool and reentering to finish with 250 yards.
    • Youth course will only swim the 225 yards.

Run Course

  • The run course will leave the Aquatics Center and move through the adjacent property and into the greenbelt of the neighborhood to the South and East of the Aquatic Center. Run course is unpaved, please be prepared for uneven terrain.
