The program model will remain the same, which offers temporary summertime employment opportunities for 6 weeks of paid, part time work within the city, as well as with several community partners (private businesses and nonprofits).

More than just another job, the Program provides qualified Avondale teens with work readiness training, a paid work experience, tuition assistance and a jump start on the competition.

Global Youth Service Day is the largest youth service and civic action event in the world and the only one that celebrates, expands, and sustains the capacity of all youth ages 12-18 and their communities to thrive by working together for the common good.

This year, Avondale will participate by conducting a clean-up of Tres Rios Wetlands on Saturday, April 13, 2019.  Be on the look out for more details as we get closer to this national day of service.
