Littles Learn and Connect

The Avondale Family Education and Resource Program (AFERP) offers a range of resources and programs designed specifically for parents with children aged 0 to 5 years old. Through our monthly events, we aim to foster child and caregiver engagement by encouraging meaningful play. Our primary focus is on promoting social-emotional skills, as we believe they are crucial for healthy development. Our ultimate objective is to establish meaningful partnerships with organizations that can provide families with the necessary support and resources they need.

Events

Family Fun Fair: The Avondale Resource Center organizes its yearly Family Fun Fair with the aim of promoting healthy lifestyles and physical activity among families who are raising young children. Parents and children are urged to engage in activities that encourage physical movement. The fair showcases various community partners who provide valuable information about their exceptional programs and services. Attendees can access a wealth of parenting resources and information, enjoy nutritious snacks, and even have the chance to win exciting prizes!

Hometown Holidays: Our Family Services Team organizes the Hometown Holidays event, which brings families together for a delightful day filled with holiday cheer, creative crafts, delicious cookies, exciting prizes, and, most importantly, an opportunity to meet the one and only Santa Claus. Additionally, we offer valuable parent support resources during the event. We extend a warm invitation to community partners to share information about their services with us.

Summer Lunch N’ Learn: The Avondale Family Education Resource Program partners with St. Mary’s Food Bank during the summer months to provide meals for toddlers through 18 years of age. This program was enhanced to include a social-emotional learning programming component which evolved into the Summer Lunch N’ Learn. Summer Lunch N’ Learn is offered at the Arizona Complete Health Avondale Resource Center.
