According to the National Fire Protection Association, fireworks have been one of the leading causes of injuries serious enough to require hospital emergency room treatment. Fireworks can result in severe burns, fractures, or scars or even death or disfigurement that can last a lifetime.
Arizona Revised Statutes section 36-1606, consumer fireworks are permissible for sale during the following dates: April 25 through May 6, May 20 through July 6 and Dec. 10 through Jan. 3 of each year and two days before the first day of Diwali through the third day of Diwali each year. The use of fireworks is permissible May 4 through May 6, June 24 through July 6 and Dec. 26 through Jan. 4 of each year and the second and third days of Diwali of each year.
A Retail Display and Sales of Consumer Fireworks in Temporary Facilities permit is required for the storage, handling, display or sale of consumer fireworks.
An Outdoor Fireworks Displays, Proximate Displays, and Pyrotechnical Special Effects Permit is required for storage, handling, or use of any quantity of fireworks or pyrotechnical special effects.
