Fire Station 172 First Due Map
Station 172 was originally built in 1999 and reconstructed in 2019. Engine 172 (E172) is one of the units assigned to Station 172 which is staffed by one Captain, one Engineer, and two Firefighters. At least two of the personnel assigned to E172 are paramedics. Also assigned to Station 172 is Utility 171 (U171). Staffed by one Engineer, U171 is an air and light truck that supports operations at larger incidents. U171 was designed with extra cab insulation and high capacity air conditioning units so the interior could be used to cool firefighters off during the hot summer months. Also at Station 172 is CV171, a jointly operated Avondale Police and Fire Command Vehicle designed to provide a secure area to serve as a Command Post at large emergency incidents or events. Station 172 proudly protects Avondale's busy Gateway commercial area, five hotels, the medical corridor, two high schools, the Avondale Auto Mall, and Universal Technical Institute.
