Dear Property Owner/Representative:
What new businesses would you like to see in your neighborhood? What improvements to the area would you suggest? The City of Avondale would like to hear from you!
A team of City staff is working on a plan – the Historic Avondale Specific Plan – focusing on economic development steps, land use and zoning, marketing and branding, and revitalization. We are excited to work with you, our local business owners and residents, to gather your input, ideas, and vision for future opportunities in Avondale’s three historic areas: Historic Avondale/Old Town, Cashion, and Las Ligas/Rio Vista (see map below).
The three historic areas contain the City’s greatest concentration of older commercial buildings and residential homes. These well-established areas have opportunities for neighborhood identification, new development of commercial, employment, and residential, as well as improvements for outdoor spaces and lighting.
To attract new businesses and residential development, maintain historic character, and revitalize areas, a Plan is necessary. It’s important that your voice is part of this process. The process to adopt this Plan includes connecting with you, having stakeholder meetings, a neighborhood meeting, public notification, and public hearings.
For more information, please feel free to contact Aaron White with the City’s Economic Development Department at 623-333-1414 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
