Transportation Alternatives

Welcome to the City of Avondale’s Transit Service website! Transit provides a wide range of convenient, low-cost transportation alternatives for residents and visitors, including fixed-route bus service, Phoenix Dial-A-Ride, ADA service, and a taxi-subsidy program.

Avondale Transit Center

The Avondale Transit Center is conveniently located in The BLVD just south of the I-10, on Avondale Boulevard and Roosevelt Street. The Transit Center includes more than 350 parking stalls, bus driveways/pull-ins, street and pedestrian lighting, landscaping, shade structures and other amenities. The Avondale/Buckeye Express Route 563 runs out of the Avondale Transit Center. To see the schedule click here.

Ride the ZOOM!

On October 28, 2019 the Zoom North and South were combined into one bidirectional route with minor changes, taking riders to John Paul Catholic High School, the newly renovated Festival Fields Park, and the intersection of Litchfield and Indian School Roads.  The combined route is now called the Zoom Uptown (counter clockwise) and the Zoom Downtown (clockwise).  Fares for the Zoom remain at 50 cents per one-way trip. Click here for a map of the combined route.

Bus Passes

Avondale has Valley Metro bus passes available for purchase at both of our Public Libraries.

Phoenix Dial-a-RideAvondale contracts through the City of Phoenix to provide residents with a Dial-A-Ride Service. This service is in compliance with federal regulations. The City of Avondale offers an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Service to eligible persons who, because of a disability, cannot use Valley Metro fixed-route bus service. Please view what is needed for ADA service.
