 **COVID-19 Response**   The following official announcements have been made by the city in regards to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus)   In an effort to minimize the visits to City Hall, please use our online services for paying your water bill  https://ubill.avondale.org/

Avondale is following guidance provided by the state Governor’s Executive Orders: https://azgovernor.gov/executive-orders. Effective Sunday, June 21, 2020 the wearing of face coverings by employees and customers will be required in all city facilities,  retail establishments, convenience stores, grocery stores, pharmacies, gyms, indoor sports or activity facilities, and medical offices. Additionally, these businesses will be required to post notice of these requirements at their entrances. (see more: COVID-19 Response)

COVID-19 UPDATE ON OPERATIONS

Only online submittals are being accepted at this time. As of Monday, June 29th, the Development and Engineering Services customer service counter has been temporarily closed to the public. Instructions for submitting electronically are provided through the link below. For assistance with online submissions, please call 623-333-4000 or email DevelopmentEngineering@Avondale.org.

Additional modifications to the Planning Division operations are described below.

  • Pre-application and other development meetings will be conducted via Zoom or other teleconferencing technology.
  • Neighborhood meetings required with planning and zoning applications will be held via Zoom or other teleconferencing technology. The date, time, web address and phone number will be provided with the meeting notice in the direct mailings, newspaper advertisement, and site sign postings. Comments and questions will be taken during the neighborhood teleconference meeting but are also encouraged in advance; comments and questions can be emailed or called into the project planner at any time.
  • Planning Commission and Board of Adjustment meetings will be held via Zoom or other teleconferencing technology. The date, time, web address and phone number will be provided with the meeting agenda. 
  • Site Inspections for projects can be scheduled directly by contacting your assigned planning project manager by telephone or email.

 The Planning Division is a team of dedicated employees working on behalf of the City of Avondale to provide the residents, property owners, developers, and visitors to the City with a high level of service in planning, development review, and site inspections. The role of each planner is to assist in the successful development of each project. We provide quality customer service to our clients, open communication, implementation of alternatives and solutions, and technical support to the City Council, Planning Commission, and the Board of Adjustment regarding development proposals.
