Call the Code Compliance Division at 623-333-2701 or send an email to emailcodecompliance@avondaleaz.gov.   All political signs must contain the name and telephone number, or website address of the candidate or campaign committee contact person.  Signs removed by the City will be retained for 10 business days to allow the candidate or campaign committee to retrieve the sign without penalty. 

Any sign that supports or opposes a candidate for public office or supports or opposes a ballot measure. 

In General, signs within public right-of-way should be placed at least one (1) foot behind the sidewalk.  The sign should be placed at least five (5) feet behind the back of curb if no sidewalk exists.  If no sidewalk or curb exists, the sign should be placed at least five (5) feet behind the edge of the pavement.  Signs cannot be attached to City-owned structures such as streetlights, street signs, or traffic signals. 

Political signs are permitted 71 days before the primary election and ending 15 days after the general election (or ending 15 days after the primary election for a candidate who failed to advance to the general election).
