The Extension of Premises/Patio Permit application is administered by the City Clerk's Office and completed by the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses & Control. The City Clerk's Office accepts the application and makes a recommendation to the state. For the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control procedures, please contact (602) 542-5141 or www.azliquor.gov. Applications must be submitted to the City Clerk at least 60 days prior to the event to allow ample time for staff to review and to schedule for consideration by the City Clerk.  

Step 1. Complete a signed Application for Extension of Premises/Patio Permit (Ensure ALL fields are completed, sign the form, and attach a diagram). Once complete, upload your form through the City of Avondale Special Event Application online portal. 

Step 2. Await approval by the City. If approved, a tentatively approved license will be emailed to you.

Step 3. Take your tentatively approved Special Event application to the State of Arizona (Arizona Dept. of Liquor), located at 800 West Washington St. 5th Floor, Phoenix, AZ 85007.

Step 4. Await approval by the State. If approved, you will be contacted again by the City of Avondale to pay any fees.

Step 5. Hold your event!

The Avondale Liquor License is administered by the City Clerk's Office and completed by the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses & Control. The Arizona Department of Liquor License and Control accepts the application and forwards the paperwork to the City of Avondale for processing.   

Step 1. Submit a Liquor License Application to the State agency (Arizona Dept. of Liquor) at 800 W. Washington St., Fifth Floor,  Phoenix, AZ 85007-5141. You may also apply online through the Arizona Department of Liquor.

Step 2. Wait to be contacted by the City of Avondale. We will contact you to collect the required fees as well as coordinate a time to post the required notice at the business address.

Step 3. Await recommendation by the City of Avondale. Once considered by the City Council, the City of Avondale will forward the recommendation to the State agency for final approval. 

Step 4. Await approval by the Arizona Dept. of Liquor. Once approved by the Arizona Liquor Board, the Arizona Dept. of Liquor will issue you a license. You will not receive a City Liquor License.
