The following changes in City of Avondale operations will take place in observance of the upcoming holidays:

• Thanksgiving Thursday, November 27, 2025
• Day after Thanksgiving Friday, November 28, 2025
• United Way1 Wednesday, December 24, 2025
• Christmas Day Thursday, December 25, 2025
• New Year’s Day Thursday, January 1, 2026
• Martin Luther King, Jr. Monday, January 19, 2026
• Presidents’ Day Monday, February 16, 2026
• Memorial Day Monday, May 25, 2026
• Juneteenth Friday, June 19, 2026

City facilities, including City Hall, City Court, Avondale Public Libraries, Mountain View Community Center, Visitor and Conference Center, Arizona Complete Health Avondale Resource Center, along with administrative offices at Public Works and Public Safety, will be closed in observance.

Sanitation Services

The Public Works Department will adhere to the following holiday trash and recycling pick-up schedule:

Trash and recycling WILL be collected. Please set out bins for all holidays, except: Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Year's Day - Collections will instead run one day later. Friday collection will occur on Saturday.

Transportation Services

Transit Services will follow the holiday schedule.

WeRIDE microtransit services will not operate on specific holidays.  Additionally, there will be no transit Express and RAPID services on the observed holidays. For complete transit schedules, please visit Valley Metro's website https://www.valleymetro.org.
