Housing Programs The Housing and Community Development (HCD) Division of the Neighborhood and Family Services Department promotes and preserves the integrity, sustainability and livability of Avondale’s neighborhoods while improving the quality of life of low-income residents. The HCD Division develops successful programs that address the needs of Avondale residents while strengthening the very fabric of the City's neighborhoods through comprehensive neighborhood preservation and revitalization strategies.

Neighborhood Preservation and Code Compliance Issues
Neighborhood Traffic Management The City of Avondale’s Development & Engineering Department works with residents and neighborhoods throughout the city to address traffic concerns through its Neighborhood Traffic Management Program (NTMP).
Police Department Online Reporting Avondale Police Department is now offering online reporting for some property crimes. Please visit our Online Reporting page for more information about what crimes can be reported online. For any crimes in progress, please call 9-1-1.

Home Repair Assistance The City of Avondale Home Repair Program offers eligible homeowners assistance with either minor or substantial home repairs. The Program is available to homeowners who need help with things like roof repair, water heater replacement, cooling and heating system repairs, plumbing leaks, weatherization and electrical wiring problems. This program can also be used for ADA accessibility conversions such as the widening of doors and the installation of grab bars and ramps, as well as lead based paint hazard removal.

Start Water & Sewer Services To start water/sewer/refuse(trash) services- Completed application and supporting documentation* MUST be submitted via the Online Water Application, fax, email, mail, or in person at the One Stop Shop area at Avondale City Hall.
Stop Water & Sewer Services All water and sewer charges will continue to be the responsibility of the account holder until the City is notified in writing to close the account and stop service. The OFF Request must be a written request submitted via New! Online OFF Request, fax, email, mail, or in person at the One Stop Shop area at Avondale City Hall.

Neighborhood Preservation The City of Avondale actively supports and concentrates revitalization efforts in four target neighborhoods; Cashion, Historic Avondale, Las Ligas, and Rio Vista. These charming historic neighborhoods are located in the southern region of the City.
