Avondale to Break Ground on Donatela Park
The City of Avondale will hold a groundbreaking event for the new Donatela Neighborhood Park on Monday, March 2, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at 113th Avenue and Palm Lane; 1825 N. 113th Avenue, Avondale, AZ 85323.
The park will be the first neighborhood park north of Interstate 10 in Avondale, bringing new recreational opportunities to the community.
Spanning 5.37 acres, the park is being developed with a $5.47 million budget over fiscal years 2025 through 2027. Planned amenities include a fenced playground and strength and stretch station with integrated shade, a basketball court, open turf, three ramadas, a restroom, a perimeter walking trail, benches, picnic tables, numerous shade trees, lighting, signage, trash receptacles, and public art. Construction is expected to be completed in Spring 2027, providing residents with a safe, accessible, and modern space for outdoor activities and community gatherings. The contractor is Valley Rain Construction and the architect is J2 Design.
