Avondale to Break Ground on Donatela Park

The City of Avondale will hold a groundbreaking event for the new Donatela Neighborhood Park on Monday, March 2, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at 113th Avenue and Palm Lane; 1825 N. 113^th Avenue, Avondale, AZ 85323.

Spanning 5.37 acres, the park is being developed with a $5.47 million budget over fiscal years 2025 through 2027. Planned amenities include a fenced playground and strength and stretch station with integrated shade, a basketball court, open turf, three ramadas, a restroom, a perimeter walking trail, benches, picnic tables, numerous shade trees, lighting, signage, trash receptacles, and public art. Construction is expected to be completed in Spring 2027, providing residents with a safe, accessible, and modern space for outdoor activities and community gatherings.  The contractor is Valley Rain Construction and the architect is J2 Design.
