Phase 4 Old Town Avondale Infrastructure Improvements Begin March 9

The City of Avondale will begin Phase 4 of infrastructure improvements in the Old Town area on March 9, 2026.

Construction will occur within two project areas:
Main Street (MC-85) south to 1st Street through 3rd Street, and from Harrison Drive to Elm Lane.

Initial work will include replacing underground water infrastructure, including water mains, service lines and fire hydrants. Following waterline improvements, crews will upgrade sidewalks and ramps to meet ADA standards. Final work will include roadway repaving and replacement of subsurface materials.

Residents should expect temporary impacts, including limited on-street parking and traffic detours. Local access will be maintained for most of the project, with brief exceptions. Emergency access will remain available at all times.

Advance notice of planned water service interruptions or access restrictions will be provided via door hangers.

The project is expected to be completed by late December 2026.
