The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has recognized the City of Avondale with the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting (PAFR) for its annual report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024.

“This recognition reflects Avondale’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and providing clear, accessible financial information to our residents,” said Renee Weatherless, Director of Finance and Budget for the City of Avondale.

The Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting for city annual reports. It reflects the City’s dedication to presenting financial information in a way that is easy to understand and informative to the public.
