Applications Open for 2026 Avondale Ambassador Program
The City of Avondale is now accepting applications for the 2026 Avondale Ambassador Program. This year-long initiative mobilizes residents to serve as community ambassadors and offers opportunities to engage with city programs, services, events, and high-priority projects.
Participants in the program will attend quarterly presentations, host information tables at city-sponsored events, participate in monthly board, commission, and City Council meetings, and provide feedback on upcoming projects and initiatives.
Past participants say the program has been an eye-opening and rewarding experience.
“The Avondale Ambassador Program is now part of the heart of the City. We went behind the scenes and had opportunities to experience all things Avondale each month. It was like having a Citizen Key to the City. Best year ever," stated Rhonda Bell, 2025 program participant.
Cynthia Ceasar McCarthy, also a 2025 Ambassador, shared, “Being able to meet other residents and share what the City of Avondale has to offer has been such an enriching experience.”
Janet Beason, 2025 Avondale Ambassador, added, “Another benefit has been the opportunity of working with other ambassadors at our trainings and during the events. Because we all live in different neighborhoods in Avondale, we probably wouldn’t have had the chance to meet and get to know them. I’m so proud to be part of Avondale and the Ambassador Program.”,
Applications for the 2026 Avondale Ambassador Program will be accepted through Monday, Nov. 17.
