Avondale Observes Veterans Day, Nov. 11
Avondale City facilities will be closed in observance of the Veterans Day holiday on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
Affected facilities include City Hall, City Court, Avondale Public Libraries, Avondale Resource Center, the Avondale Visitor and Conference Center, Avondale Aquatic Center, and the Mountain View Community Center, along with administrative offices at Public Works and Public Safety.
Essential services, such as police and fire services, will not be impacted. While City facilities will be closed, there will be NO CHANGES to trash/solid waste or bulk pick-up schedules.
Valley Metro buses will be operating regular service on all routes, excluding Express/RAPID which will not be in service. WeRIDE microtransit will NOT be operating on this day.
The public is invited to join the City of Avondale and Estrella Mountain Community College for a special Veterans Day 5K Run/Walk and Ceremony. The event will take place at Estrella Mountain Community College, located at 3000 N. Dysart Road in Avondale. The 1-Mile Run/Walk will begin at 9:45 a.m., followed by the 5K at 10 a.m. The Veterans Ceremony and race placements will take place at 11 a.m. at the Estrella North Plaza.
