Embassy Suites by Hilton Coming to The BLVD in Avondale

AVONDALE, AZ — The City of Avondale is preparing to welcome a premier Embassy Suites by Hilton to The BLVD.

The City and developer Web Avondale Investments, LLC, part of the Whitten Development portfolio, are working on a Development Agreement that will bring a six-story,180-room, full-service hotel with more than 10,000 square feet of meeting and conference space. This new prototype will feature a rooftop bar with panoramic views of the Estrella Mountains, along with state-of-the-art design and amenities. The new hotel project will add to the exciting quality development underway at The BLVD, a premier mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly destination conducive to daytime and nighttime activities within its 6 distinct districts.

This full-service hospitality project will serve as a major anchor in Avondale’s thriving entertainment district and aligns with the city’s long-term vision to expand tourism, attract regional and national events, and support local businesses.

Whitten Development, founded in 1999, brings decades of hospitality experience, having developed and managed hotel properties under the Hilton and Marriott brand families nationwide. Known for its turnkey hotel delivery, Whitten’s entry into the Avondale hospitality market reflects strong confidence in The BLVD’s performance and trajectory.

The hotel project is expected to generate new employment opportunities, enhance the city’s ability to host large-scale events, and strengthen Avondale’s commercial tax base.

The Avondale City Council approved a Notice of Intent on Oct. 21, 2025, and will consider a Development Agreement in November.

The Embassy Suites is part of a broader development vision for The BLVD, envisioned as an entertainment center blending commerce, recreation, hospitality, retail, and restaurants. Following a competitive RFP process, the city selected both Whitten Development and Blueprints Capital as the development partners for the next phase of development in The BLVD. Their plans include a walkable, mixed-use district featuring dining, retail, family-friendly attractions, cultural programming, and vibrant public spaces.

Officially branded "The BLVD" in 2018, Avondale's city epicenter has grown exponentially, currently comprising four hotels, four multifamily housing developments, more than 23 retail and restaurant establishments, as well as the American Sports Centers - Avondale, located in the Park Avenue District and attracts more than half a million visits annually.
