Avondale Blank Canvas Summer Showcase Art Expo Names Winners

The City of Avondale recognized the winners of this year’s Blank Canvas Summer Showcase & Art Expo.  The event, held on Thursday, August 14 at Avondale City Hall, showcased the art work of dozens of young artists, who were each provided a free canvas this summer to create an original work of art.

The completed canvases were on display in the lobby of City Hall for a month and voted on by City of Avondale employees. Voting was based on three categories: creativity, craftsmanship, and composition.

The 2025 Blank Canvas Summer Showcase Art Expo winners are:

Age 5 – 8:

3rd Estrella Reynolds, Age 6

2nd Jesus Castro, Age 7

1st Valentenya Castro, Age 8

Ages 9 – 12:

3rd Amariz Mollinedo, Age 12

2nd Evette Vazquez, Age 11

1st Evelyn Vazquez, Age 11

Ages 13 – 17:

3rd Corrine Smith, Age 13

2nd Nicole Candelaria, Age 15

1st Mya Sherman, Age 15
