Avondale 2019 Water Quality Report & Calendar Now Available

The City of Avondale’s Annual Water Quality Report is now available.  Avondale residents and businesses will receive the report, which does double duty as a calendar, in the mail before the end of the month.

This is the 14th year that the city has provided residents this report in a friendly mid-year calendar format. This year, the calendar introduces a cast of City vehicles portrayed as colorful cartoon characters -- Meet Sammy the Sideloader, Water Tank Willy, the Vactor Brothers, Evie the electric vehicle and their friends. These affable characters provide insights and tips on Public Works Department’s various essential services, including water quality, conservation, recycling and bulk trash.

This year’s calendar edition also celebrates Phoenix Raceway, which will host the NASCAR 2020 Championship Weekend this November. Each year, Phoenix Raceway’s two NASCAR events bring over 200,000 visitors to Avondale.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Arizona Department of Environmental Quality require community water systems to put annual drinking water quality reports into the hands of their customers. These reports (also known as consumer confidence reports), enable Americans to make practical, knowledgeable decisions about their health and their environment. The Water Quality Consumer Confidence Report, which covers all testing completed from January through December 2019, assures residents that their drinking water is safe and in full compliance with all state and federal requirements.

The Annual Water Quality Report is available electronically on the City’s website at www.avondaleaz.gov/waterqualityreport. Calendar versions of the report are also made available for pick up at Avondale City Hall (11465 W Civic Center Dr. Avondale). For more information contact the Public Works Department at (623) 333-4400 or at email  publicworks@avondaleaz.gov
