Avondale Van Buren Multi-use Path project construction to begin June 8

Starting June 8, the Van Buren Multi-use path project will begin construction in Avondale.  This partially federally-funded project has a total construction cost of $4.2 Million (Federal $2.6 million and City $1.6 million), and is part of a long term project to further the regional Maricopa County Multimodal Trail System.

This project is managed by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), and has a proposed completion of December 2020.

The Van Buren Multi-use path in Avondale is approximately 1.5 miles in length, between 113th Avenue and 127th Avenue on the north side of Van Buren Street. The proposed work consists of constructing a concrete multi-use path, sidewalks and sidewalk ramps, installing pedestrian lighting, irrigations system, landscaping, signing, striping and other related work.

Access to businesses and residential will be maintained throughout. There will be minor impact to travel lanes with shoulders closures.
