 **COVID-19 Response**   The following official announcements have been made by the city in regards to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus)   In an effort to minimize the visits to City Hall, please use our online services for paying your water bill  https://ubill.avondale.org/

Avondale is following guidance provided by the state Governor’s Executive Orders: https://azgovernor.gov/executive-orders. Effective Sunday, June 21, 2020 the wearing of face coverings by employees and customers will be required in all city facilities,  retail establishments, convenience stores, grocery stores, pharmacies, gyms, indoor sports or activity facilities, and medical offices. Additionally, these businesses will be required to post notice of these requirements at their entrances. (see more: COVID-19 Response)

Avondale to host Public Open House Meeting for proposed Thomas Road Crossing design

The City of Avondale is currently evaluating alternatives to provide an east/west crossing at the Agua Fria River along the Thomas Road alignment within the city. The city is hosting two Public Open House meetings this month to discuss the proposed Thomas Road Crossing at the Aqua Fria River (Rancho Santa Fe Boulevard to 119th Avenue). Community members are encouraged to attend the public meeting to learn more about the proposed improvements, view design concepts and provide input on the project.

The dates of the meetings are Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020; 6 -7:30 p.m. at Estrella Mountain Community College (Estrella Conference Center, 3000 N Dysart Rd, Avondale) and Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020; 6 - 7:30 p.m. at Canyon Breeze Elementary School (Cafeteria, 11675 W Encanto Blvd, Avondale).

Proposed alternatives include:
• A new bridge superstructure
• An at-grade crossing between the existing levees
• Each alternative includes widening Thomas Road to four lanes with sidewalks, bicycle lanes and street lighting
