Dysart/Rancho Santa Fe Intersection Improvements Construction Scheduled

Dysart Road will see some ongoing construction starting this month, as part of the City of Avondale’s plan to improve traffic flow on this heavily traveled road. The City of Avondale awarded a contract to Visus, Inc. to install a northbound to eastbound right turn lane from Dysart Road onto Rancho Santa Fe Boulevard. Improvements include new pavement, curb, gutter, sidewalk and traffic signals.

Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, January 27, 2020. The project will take approximately four months to complete. Construction work hours typically will be 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Hours will vary with seasonal changes and construction crews may work evenings and weekends as needed.

During the construction project, expect traffic lane closures and restrictions. Local access will be maintained for residents, businesses and emergency vehicles. Please note there will not be enough room for large semi-truck vehicles and buses to turn right (east) onto Rancho Santa Fe until the project is complete. Access will be provided for large trucks and buses via McDowell Road. Allow extra time when traveling through the work zone as there may be traffic delays.

If you have questions or need more information about the intersection improvement project in your community, please call the project hotline at 602.264.4611 or visit  for project updates.
