Avondale makes a difference for United Way Campaign
Employees pledge over $114,000 in 2019

Avondale employees generously pledged over $114,000 towards the Valley of the Sun United Way, as part of the City’s month-long United Way employee fundraising campaign this year.

With 74% employee participation, Avondale has been consistently recognized by the Valley of the Sun United Way as the Number 1 giving municipality in percentage of employees contributing, and has been among the top campaign participants for the United Way in the category of 500-999 employees for its fundraising efforts Valley-wide for multiple years now.

Raising dollars for the Valley of the Sun United Way is an important part of the city of Avondale’s culture of giving. Year after year, Avondale employees set a high goal for contributions, and have consistently exceeded that goal. This year is no different; the 2019 campaign exceeded last year’s pledge of $111,000.

“I am proud to be a part of an organization that is committed to public service across all sectors. Avondale employees truly believe in their core purpose of Making Lives Better for everyone in the community that they serve,” said Avondale City Manager Charles Montoya.
