 **COVID-19 Response**   The following official announcements have been made by the city in regards to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus)   In an effort to minimize the visits to City Hall, please use our online services for paying your water bill

Avondale is following guidance provided by the state Governor’s Executive Orders: Effective Sunday, June 21, 2020 the wearing of face coverings by employees and customers will be required in all city facilities,  retail establishments, convenience stores, grocery stores, pharmacies, gyms, indoor sports or activity facilities, and medical offices. Additionally, these businesses will be required to post notice of these requirements at their entrances. (see more: COVID-19 Response)

Road Preservation Treatment Work to Begin October 14

Road Preservation Treatment Work to Beginning October 14 

Contractor crews working for the city of Avondale will be applying rugged surface sealant to roads throughout Avondale this month. Most of these roads are collector streets and the work will take place over a period of approximately two weeks. This road preservation work is scheduled to occur October 14 through October 25, 2019.

Streets being treated west of the Agua Fria River include Osborn Road between Dysart Road and Sante Fe Trail and Thomas Road (westbound only) between Dysart Road and 135th Ave. Also treated  will be Rancho Santa Fe Blvd. between Thomas Road and McDowell Road, Eliseo Felix Way between Van Buren St. and its north terminus, La Canada Blvd. and 4th Street between Van Buren St. and Central Ave., and 4th Avenue south of Western Ave. Included also are Western Avenue east of Dysart Road and 10th Street between Western Ave. and Riley Dr.

East of the river, main roads getting treated include Fairway Drive between Van Buren St. and Coldwater Springs Dr., Van Buren St. between Links Dr. and Avondale Blvd., and Avondale Blvd. between McDowell Road and I-10. Additionally, 119th Ave. between McDowell Road and Monte Vista Road. and Avondale Blvd between Thomas Road and Cambridge Ave. will receive this surface rehabilitation. Also included are Encanto Blvd. between 112th Dr. and Encanto Blvd. between 107th Ave. and 103rd Ave.  Crews will be performing the work between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.  

Every effort will be made to provide traffic control that minimizes interruptions to normal traffic flows.  Notifications will be provided to residents adjacent to these roads via HOAs in advance to the work.
