Avondale Public Library Announces Changes Coming to eBooks and eAudiobooks

On September 17, 2019, the Avondale Public Library launched a new e-Book and e-Audiobook collection platform called cloudLibrary. The current platform, OverDrive/Libby, through the Southwest Valley Library Consortium, will be turning off on October 13. This move allows the library to leverage the resources of cloudLibrary’s cloudLink system. cloudLink will give patrons access to the digital collections of other cloudLink libraries in the state of Arizona, including Chandler, Mesa, Tempe, Peoria, Navajo and Pinal Counties and Morenci. This will increase the available titles for patrons to check out from approximately 9,300 to about 45,000 titles with the potential to see additional titles added as more libraries join cloudLink.

In addition to having access to many more titles through cloudLibrary, users will be able to use the cloudLibrary app to display their library barcode. This means that a library patron can use their digital library card to checkout physical items at the checkout kiosks. cloudLibrary also integrates the library events calendar, a user’s library account balance, as well as offers other great features.

Please visit the Avondale Library website for more information and updates at: or call 623-333-2665 for questions or assistance.
