Registration now open for Toys & More Project

The Toys & More Project --  a partnership between the Salvation Army, Agua Fria Food & Clothing Bank and Care 1st Avondale Resource Center for holiday gift & food assistance -- will be accepting registrations from participants residing in Avondale, Cashion, Goodyear, Litchfield Park and Tolleson.  All registered families will receive gifts for children and a holiday food box ready-to-go at distribution time. Specific time slots will be given at the time of registration for those attending the Toys & More Event.

Toys & More Project event takes place on Saturday, December 14 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Avondale Middle School (1406 N Central Ave, Avondale, AZ 85323).  The event includes family entertainment, crafts, cookies, inflatables, a visit from Santa, and information about community resources. 

To participate in the Toys & More Project as a recipient, registration dates times and locations are listed below:

  • October 21-26 from 9 a.m. to noon;  The Salvation Army 11 N 3rd Ave, Avondale AZ 85323  
  • Wednesdays only in the month of October from 9 a.m. to noon;  Agua Fria Food & Clothing Bank 405 E Harrison Drive, Avondale AZ 85323   
  • October 9 & 23  4 to 6 p.m. ; Care1st Avondale Resource Center 328 W Western Ave, Avondale AZ 85323   
  • November 2  from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Palm Valley Church Fall Fest Car/Vendor Show 431 N Litchfield Rd, Goodyear, AZ 85338

Participants will need to provide the following information to apply for gift and food assistance. Applications will not be accepted without completed documentation. No applications will be accepted after October 27 for the December 15 event.

• Photo Identification

• Birth Certificates or Proof of Guardianship for all children 0-8th Grade

• Proof of Address (current utility bill, current rental agreement, etc.)

• Proof of income for ALL members of the household. (SSDI, SSI, Section 8, Food Stamps, Child Support, Unemployment and Workman’s Comp, Pay stubs or School Food Assistance paperwork)
