School Year Dinner Food Service Program offered at Care1st Avondale Resource Center

Did you know that one in four children in Arizona lives in poverty and is at risk of going to bed hungry tonight? Care1st Avondale Resource Center hosts Kids Cafe®, a USDA program that ensures that children in low-income areas continue to receive nutritious meals after a long school day. This meal-service program provides Arizona children with what is often their last meal of the day.

Children up to 18 years old can enjoy a free, healthy meal and an activity at the Care1st Avondale Resource Center, in partnership with St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance Kids Cafe®, during the School Year. Sample menu items: chicken nuggets, turkey sandwich, bean & cheese burrito, carrots, pears, yogurt, and low fat milk.

Kids Cafe® will operate Monday - Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. beginning October 1 through May 21, 2020. The free dinners are offered on a first come, first served basis.

Care1st Avondale Resource Center is located at 328 W Western Ave., Avondale, AZ 85323. For more information about programs and services provided out of Care1st Avondale Resource Center, call 623-333-2703.
