Avondale Observes July 4th Holiday

In observance of Independence Day, City of Avondale offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4. Avondale city offices, libraries, community and resource centers will be closed in observance of the holiday.

Transit services for the ZOOM Circulator Bus will not run on July 4.

The Public Works Department will follow the holiday trash and recycling pick up schedule. There will be no trash and recycling collections on Thursday, July 4. If your trash or recycling pickup normally takes place Thursday or Friday, please note that your container will be picked up one day later. Residents who normally have Friday pick up will have a Saturday trash/recycle service day. Containers must be placed at curbside no later than 5 a.m. on the day of collection. For more information on refuse/recycling collection, please call Public Works at (623) 333-4400.

City parks are open on this holiday; please note that fireworks are not allowed in any city facility or park.

A Reminder about Fireworks Rules and Safety: The Fire & Medical Department also extends a reminder to residents regarding the rules and regulations for use of consumer fireworks within city limits. Local public safety officials suggest leaving the fireworks to the professionals. Fireworks can result in severe burns, fractures, scars, lifetime disfigurement, or even death. The use of consumer fireworks is permitted in Avondale only during the periods of June 24 – July 6. A complete list of authorized items can be found by visiting www.avondaleaz.gov/fire  .

City of Avondale wishes you and your family a safe and enjoyable July 4th.
