Public Hearing on Proposed Development Impact Fees

Post Date: 11/14/2018 - In accordance with Arizona Revised Statute 9-463.05, the City of Avondale is holding a public hearing to accept comments on the proposed development impact fees. The public hearing will be held at Avondale City Hall at the City Council meeting scheduled:  Monday, January 14, 2019,  City Hall Council Chambers, 11465 W. Civic Center Drive, Avondale, Arizona 85323 at 7:00 pm.  City Council reviewed the Land Use Assumptions and Infrastructure Improvement Plan on Monday, October 15, 2018.

Gina Montes Credentialed by International Local Government Management Organization

Gina Montes, Assistant City Manager for the City of Avondale, recently received the Credentialed Manager designation from ICMA, the International City/County Management Association. Gina Montes is one of over 1,300 local government management professionals currently credentialed through the ICMA Voluntary Credentialing Program.

ICMA’s mission is to advance professional local government through leadership, management, innovation, and ethics and by increasing the proficiency of appointed chief administrative officers, assistant administrators, and other employees who serve local governments and regional entities around the world. The organization’s 13,000 members in 27 countries also include educators, students, and other local government employees.

To receive the prestigious ICMA credential, a member must have significant experience as a senior management executive in local government; have earned a degree, preferably in public administration or a related field; and demonstrated a commitment to high standards of integrity and to lifelong learning and professional development.

Gina Montes Head Shot 1Ms. Montes is qualified by 12 years of professional local government executive experience. Prior to her appointment in 2014 as Assistant City Manager of the City of Avondale, she served as Avondale’s Neighborhood and Family Services Director.  Ms. Montes previously served as Deputy Human Services Director and in other roles with the City of Phoenix for 11 years.

Ms. Montes is currently on the Boards of Director for the Arizona City/County Management Association (ACMA), Trellis, Inc., and she serves on the Governing Council for the Maricopa Integrated Health System.
