City Center Specific Plan - General Plan Amendment Neighborhood Meeting

You are invited to attend a neighborhood meeting to discuss Application PL-19-0151, a request by the City of Avondale Planning Division for a Minor General Plan Land Use Map Amendment and a Minor General Plan Text Amendment related to the City’s City Center Specific Plan (CCSP) update.
The proposed Map Amendment will apply the new City Center land use district designations to approximately 356 acres generally bounded by the I-10 Freeway, Coldwater Springs Boulevard, 113th Avenue, and 117th Avenue, replacing the existing City Center land use designations with the new City Center designations in conformance with the land use map included in the proposed CCSP update. Additionally, the proposed Map Amendment will revise the land use designation of approximately 87.6 acres located at the northeast corner of 119th Avenue and Van Buren Street from City Center to Mixed Use; this portion of land is proposed to be removed from the City Center area as part of the proposed CCSP update.
The proposed Text Amendment will revise the City Center land use categories to reflect the new land use “districts” proposed in the City Center Plan update.
At the meeting, City Staff will be available to answer questions and solicit comments on this request. This is not a public hearing and no official action will be taken.
