Do you live in a community that is served by a homeowners association (HOA)? Are you a board member of an HOA? Are you just interested in learning more about HOAs? If so, please join us at the next Southwest Valley HOA Summit scheduled for Tuesday, June 6, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Sonoran Room, at Avondale City Hall, 11465 W Civic Center Drive, Avondale, AZ 85323.
Topics to be presented at this summit:
Board Members Roles and Responsibilities-participants will learn what boards should do to assure that the association's business is conducted in an efficient and professional manner. The legal duties of the board of directors including roles and responsibilities, fiduciary duty will be covered. We will also discuss training basics and mentoring of the new board member.
The Board of Directors Code of Conduct-An association board of director's Code of Conduct explains the expectations of board members with regard to ethical rules and procedures, standards of behavior and professional conduct while they serve as a director for their association. This class will discuss two types of codes of conduct for the board of directors and show attendees how to establish a code of conduct. examples of principles and guidelines within a code of conduct will also be included.
These classes are presented by the Mulcahy Law Firm, P.C. In addition, a legislative update on bills related to HOAs will be provided, followed by a question-and-answer session to conclude this informative session.
Southwest Valley HOA Summits are open to the public and all are welcome. Registration is required.
