At its regular meetings of June 19, 2017 and July 10, 2017 the Avondale City Council will consider resolutions adopting the fee schedule and tax levy for FY 2017-2018.

Arizona Water Awareness Month

 

Residents and friends of Avondale are invited to get involved during Water Awareness Month (WAM) using an interactive, web-based calendar of activities, events, tips, and resources that relate to the water topic of the day.  The WAM website can be found at www.waterawarenessmonth.com  and  www.arizonawaterfacts.com

                                                                

 Wyland Mayors Challenge

Wyland Foundation's Annual National Mayor's Challenge for Water Conservation, a competition that encourages cities across the nation to see who can be the most water wise, by asking their residents to take a series of informative, easy to use pledges online to conserve water, energy and other natural resources.

Take the online “My Water Pledge” on behalf of our city.  If Avondale wins and you choose to enter the prize drawing, you could be eligible to win a Toyota Prius, or a list of many other earth friendly prizes.  The pledge is located at http://www.mywaterpledge.com/campaign/national-campaign/.

Household Hazardous Waste Event

Over 400 cars brought household hazardous waste for safe disposal at the Saturday April 1st event.  
A cooperative effort between the cities of Avondale, Goodyear and Tolleson, the attendance represents a growing awareness of the importance of keeping hazardous waste out of the normal waste stream.
