Notice of Proposed Increase in Fees and Tax Levy

At its regular meeting July 10, 2017 the Avondale City Council will consider a resolution adopting the tax levy for FY 2017-2018. The meeting is scheduled for 7:00 pm at the Avondale City Council Chambers, 11465 W. Economic Opportunities Fund

The City has established this fund to assist the needs of projects that provide quality job opportunities within the community.

Development Impact Fee Reduction

The City has established a $2,000,000 fund that will reduce development impact fees for commercial and residential projects by 20%. 

Development Review

The Development Services Department is committed to working with businesses on planning, zoning, and permitting issues to ensure that project reviews are completed in a timely manner.

Building Permit and Plan Review Fees

Eligible projects may receive a reimbursement of building permits and plan review fees established by the City Council.

Commercial Infill Incentive

Eligible projects within commercial and residential infill incentive areas will receive a waiver of 50% of the building permits and plan review fees. Please visit the Infill Incentive Program page for more information.

Community Facilities District (CFD)

This tool provides a mechanism to finance construction and/or acquisition of public infrastructure that benefits the real property in the district and its owners.  If necessary, it also provides a mechanism for the operation and maintenance of the infrastructure and can be utilized by the City to provide enhanced municipal services to the district.

Greater Maricopa Foreign Trade Zone (GMFTZ)

The City, as a member of the GMFTZ, has a FTZ specialized consultant available to assist organizations in applying for FTZ status.  FTZ status affords qualifying organizations reduction in state property taxes as well as deferral, reduction or elimination of federal custom duties.

Workforce Development

The City works closely with the Maricopa Community College District to assist companies with their workforce needs.
