At its regular meeting of January 16, 2018 the Avondale City Council will consider a recommendation to raise water and wastewater rates. Public Meetings will be held on December 12, 14 from 6 – 7:00 p.m.

City Manager  - (623) 333-1000
The City Manager is the Chief Executive Officer of the City, and is responsible for the administration of the City in accordance with the City Council policy and Charter requirements. The City Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the city departments.
 
A few of the City Clerk's responsibilities are as follows: keeping of all City records, recording the official actions of the Council, holding municipal elections, processing contracts and agreements, providing public records, City liquor licenses, and information help desk.
 
The Court is a separate branch of city government and a part of the statewide court system, subject to the authority of the Supreme Court.
 
The activities of the Community Relations & Public Affairs Office include public information, community/media relations, digital engagement platforms,council relations,citizen/governmental advocacy, transit & grants management.
 
Responsible for the administration of the Planning, Engineering Plan Review, Permit Center, Building Services, and Planning Divisions whose functions include land use planning, zoning, building permits and building inspections.
 
The Economic Development effort is committed to creating a diversified, strong, and sustainable economy that encourages and nurtures the business environment. Our mission is to implement the City Council's goal of establishing Avondale as a premier location for retail, commercial & industrial investment.
 
The Finance and Budget Director provides administrative support for financial reporting, budget, accounts payable, purchasing, payroll, sales tax and utility billing.
 
The Avondale Fire Department exists to provide the highest level of customer service, including fire, medical, and other life safety services, to those who reside, work or travel through the City of Avondale. Our calls for service range from what some might consider a minor emergency to significant events that threaten lives and property, and could have disastrous results. They also include a wide range of non-emergency, and non-traditional, customer service activities.
 
Responsible for all personnel activities including recruitment, staffing, job analysis, orientation, training, employee relations, compensation, benefits, workers' compensation, discipline and grievance resolution, and EEO/AA compliance activities.
 
Support the City’s operations and services through information and communications technologies.
 
This department is comprised of Family Services, Code Enforcement, Housing and Community Development, Youth Services, and Revitalization/Historic Avondale.
 
Responsible for the planning, coordinating, and supervision of the divisions of Parks, Recreation, and Libraries.
 
Avondale is growing rapidly, and with that pace of growth, brings increased demand for public safety services. The Avondale Police Department has adopted a philosophy of Community Oriented Policing to aid in serving the public. The community is encouraged to get involved and help wherever possible.

The Public Works Department is responsible for the development and maintenance of the public infrastructure of the City through the management of garbage, recycling, fleet services, street maintenance operations, water and wastewater systems.
